Things to consider before you shop:
• Who will use the boat? Will you need room to accommodate a group larger than your family?
• Where will you use the boat? A large body of water may require a larger boat.
• How will the boat be used? Will you use it for water skiing or fishing, or are you only interested in cruising?
• What can you afford? Remember to factor in registration, insurance and maintenance costs.
• Are storage and repair services easily available?
• What is the condition of the boat (if used)?
• How long do you plan to keep the boat? You will want to consider resale value. To get your money's worth from your investment, you should plan to keep a boat at least three years.

Detailing:
Washing, buffing and waxing; canvas repair as needed, upholstery and carpets cleaning. Floor and deck covering.

Vinyl Lettering:
Customize your vessel with clean crisp lettering. Faster, more durable, and affordable than paint.

Surveys:
A survey is similar to a home inspection, providing significant details on the vessel’s condition.

Jagit performs the following types of surveys:

CONDITION AND VALUATION SURVEY
This is the most comprehensive type of inspection, and is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. Condition and the overall operation of the vessel should be examined. This includes such items as structural integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, machinery, navigation, miscellaneous on board items, cosmetic appearance, electronics, and overall maintenance.

INSURANCE SURVEY
This inspection is performed so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance companies require a survey on older boats. They will also want to know the vessel’s fair market value.

DAMAGE INSPECTION SURVEY
This is performed to assess the extent of damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost, and if requested, the probable cause of damage.

PRE-PURCHASE SURVEY
This inspection is performed to gather enough information to justify or determine the fair market value of the vessel. This is normally needed for financing, estate settlements, donations, and legal cases.
